. . .  AND the nominated piece was named a "notable essay" in The Best American Essays 2017.

For a deeper understanding of Steven Wineman's forthcoming novel, The Therapy Journal, read his "Erving and Alice and Sky and Elisabeth."  The essay was nominated for a 2016 Pushcart Prize in non-fiction.  In it, Wineman meditates on his life with Elisabeth Morrison.  The novel's fictional character, Lathsamy, is modeled largely upon this brilliant but deeply traumatized lawyer.   The essay is freely available online at http://cdclv.unlv.edu/ega/articles/wineman_eg_ag_sg_16.pdf .
